A malfunctioning ABS module is the source of the recall.

Stellantis is dropping a bombshell on Dodge and Ram owners: more than 211,000 SUVs and pickup trucks are being recalled.

We're talking about the 2022 Dodge Durango, Ram 2500, and Ram 3500. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has blown the whistle on a malfunctioning ABS control module. Without a properly functioning ABS module, your braking performance is much worse and the stability control system could be useless.

Both scenarios are a recipe for disaster, potentially leading to crashes. Stellantis is scrambling to fix the issue, pointing fingers at a software glitch.

The Ram 2500 and 3500 are also included in the recall.

If you own one of these models produced between April 2021 and December 2022 be on the lookout for a recall notice. The Ram 2500 pickup is hit hardest, with 157,890 units expected to be affected, 53,167 Durangos are affected, and just 524 Ram 3500s

But it’s not just U.S. consumers, 17,462 vehicles in Canada are affected. 2,313 in Mexico, and another 5,023 spread across markets outside North America. Fortunately, the fix is as simple as a software update at your local dealership, free of charge. However, recall notices won’t go out until late next month.
