These Are The Cars No One Wants Right Now

Low-volume specialty vehicles dominate the list, along with plug-in hybrids
We have good news and bad news for Volvo. On the positive side, Volvo only has two nameplates on this month’s list of the least-researched vehicles. On the negative side, the list still leads off with two models from the storied Swedish brand. Well, sort of—there’s actually a four-way tie for last place, but two of those machines are Volvos.
The rankings are based on data provided exclusively to AutoGuide via AutoFinder.com — an automotive marketplace featuring over 3 million new and used vehicle listings, connecting consumers with top dealerships nationwide to easily find and secure the best deal on a car, truck or SUV.

We can’t be certain, but there’s a reasonable explanation as to why some of the vehicles on the list above don’t garner many internet searches: They have confusing names.
Take Audi’s Sportback lineup, for instance. If you were searching for a Q8 and wanted to see all the versions it came in, you’d just search for “Audi Q8”, right? Same for models that come with multiple drivetrains, like the Ford Escape and Chrysler Pacifica (gas and PHEV for both). The Cadillac Escalade-V lineup is similarly split into multiple models.
Models like the Lotus Emira and McLaren Artura aren’t surprising on the least-researched list, considering they are low-production specials that most people can’t afford. In the case of the Honda CR-V Fuel Cell, well, it’s only available in a few selected locations in the United States, so internet searches are bound to be limited.
Interestingly, models from Maserati, like the Quattroporte and GranCabrio, aren’t on this month’s list as they were for the prior three months. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan and BMW M3 and M4 also dropped out of the bottom. But perhaps the biggest no-longer-losing automaker has to be Volvo. For the past several months, Volvo led the least-researched list with more models than any other automaker. This month’s two inclusions are a solid step forward.
