Ram 1500 REV and Ramcharger Both Delayed

Ram's first battery-powered trucks are already facing delays, with the Ram 1500 REV and Ram 1500 Ramcharger now set to launch in the first half of 2025.
Initially, the trucks were expected to make their market launch by late 2024—now—the postponement comes as Stellantis prioritizes the rollout of other key models, including the Dodge Charger Daytona EV and Jeep Wagoneer S.
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares emphasized the need for thorough validation during an announcement about the trucks’ shared STLA Frame platform.
“We don't want to take risks. It's better to take a few weeks more to validate properly than to rush and make mistakes in terms of quality,” he said.
This cautious approach comes as Ram grapples with manufacturing challenges and slow sales of its gas-powered lineup, adding pressure to the brand's EV ambitions.
Unveiled in February 2023, the all-electric Ram 1500 REV promises up to 500 miles of range with its optional 229-kWh battery, alongside a 168-kWh version offering 350 miles. The Ramcharger, introduced later that year, combines a 92-kWh battery with a 3.6-liter V6 generator for extended range, offering a unique alternative in the electrified pickup market.
