Aston Martin has officially unveiled the 2026 Vanquish Volante, bringing topless motoring to its most potent front-engine production car. As a convertible version of the new Vanquish, the Volante retains the same 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, delivering 824 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Key Points

  • Retains the 5.2L twin-turbo V12 with 824 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic
  • 0–62 mph in 3.4 seconds (0.2s slower than the coupe) due to added weight from convertible reinforcements, it maintains a 214 mph top speed.
  • Fabric roof lowers in 14 seconds and raises in 16 seconds at speeds up to 31 mph.

Despite losing its lid, the Volante's performance remains close to the coupe's. The Vanquish Volante hits 62 mph in 3.4 seconds—just 0.2 seconds slower than the hardtop—on its way to a 214 mph top speed. The minimal increase in weight, about 209 pounds over the coupe, brings the Volante’s estimated curb weight to around 4,300 pounds.

Aston Martin says the chassis has been reinforced to maintain near-identical stiffness to the coupe, with suspension tuning specific to the Volante. The convertible also shares the coupe’s 21-inch Pirelli P Zero tires and carbon ceramic brakes—six-piston calipers up front and four-piston units at the rear.

Inside, the Vanquish Volante mirrors the coupe’s design, including dual 10.25-inch displays and high-end materials. The main difference is the K-fold fabric roof, which can be lowered in 14 seconds or raised in 16 seconds at speeds up to 31 mph. With the top down, the optional titanium exhaust will sing you sweet, sweet V12 tunes—or there's an optional 15-speaker sound system by British audio brand Bowers & Wilkins if you're not into mechanical symphonies.

“For 60 years, Aston Martin Volantes have defined the art of elegant, sporting, open-top motoring,” said Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark. “With its stunning looks and outstanding V12 engine producing more power than any other front-engine production car on sale, Vanquish Volante has taken this philosophy to an entirely new level.”

Pricing has not been announced, but expect the Volante to exceed the $434,000 base price of the coupe. Production is set to begin in Q3 of 2025, with Aston Martin limiting annual output to fewer than 1,000 units. The company may be bad at finance and swimming in debt, but at least they make the prettiest cars in the league.
