VIDEO: 2026 Nissan LEAF Hands-On Preview

Officially introduced last month, the third generation 2026 Nissan LEAF is going on sale later this year with increased power, range, and battery capacity. No longer classified as a car by the manufacturer, the new LEAF is a crossover, even if it's actually a little smaller and lower to the ground compared to the old model.
We understand the new classification as the 2026 LEAF does have a more SUV-Coupe-like styling, with a swoopy liftback and high center cabin. Up front is a black grille that can include optional lighting elements like an illuminated Nissan emblem, stacked rectangular lighting elements and a full-width running lamp. At the back of the car, the roofline features a katana blade-like molding, like the one on the Nissan Z. We got a chance to check the car out for ourselves before its official release and see what it's like in person. Watch our hands-on video above for all the details.
