2025 Corvette ZR1 Is The Fastest American Car Ever Made
Chevrolet just dropped mega WTF performance stats for the 2025 Corvette ZR1.
With its twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 delivering a monstrous 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque, the ZR1 boasts a top speed of 233 mph. The top-end figure makes the 2025 C8 Corvette ZR1 the fastest car ever built by an American auto manufacturer.
The ZR1 can sprint from 0-60 mph in just 2.3 seconds with the ZTK Performance Package. Even without the extra sporty kit, the standard ZR1 achieves an impressive 2.5-second run. Both versions dominate the quarter mile, with the ZTK-equipped ZR1 clocking in at 9.6 seconds at 150 mph, while the base model completes it in 9.7 seconds at 152 mph.
These tests were performed on 93-octane fuel and non-prepped surfaces, it's unclear if jean shorts, New Balance 530s, and gold chains were also present.
To put these numbers in perspective, the Corvette ZR1 matches or outpaces rivals like the Ferrari SF90 Stradale and Lamborghini Revuelto, both of which hit 62 mph in 2.5 seconds—both of which use electrification to augment their performance. However, Dodge’s Challenger SRT Demon 170 posts quicker acceleration figures.
Chevy says the ZR1's performance is supported by an upgraded eight-speed dual-clutch transmission with reinforced shafts and enhanced lubrication. It's good to know GM has gotten on top of the 8-speed DCT as the Tremec-designed unit was actual glass in the standard C8 before GM brought production in-house.
Pricing for the ZR1 remains unannounced, but Corvette chief engineer Josh Holder emphasized its unmatched value. “The 2025 Corvette ZR1 delivers on its mission to provide customers unrelenting power,” Holder said, noting its unique position as the fastest production car under $1 million.
The spread between C8 Corvette models is closer than ever. The C8 Stingray with available Z51 package can sprint to 60 in 2.9 seconds; the C8 Z06 with available Z07 package shaves that down to 2.6 seconds; the C8 E-Ray cuts another tenth off at 2.5 seconds; while the ZR1 with available ZTK package crowns the lineup with a 2.3 second time.
The 2025 Corvette ZR1 is set to arrive next year, cementing its place as a formidable contender in the hypercar segment. Look for pricing details to arrive in the coming months as Chevy builds excitement for the 2025 ZR1.
