BMW is celebrating MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi with a special edition of its high-performance coupe, the 2025 BMW M4 CS Edition VR46. Created as a birthday present for Rossi's 46th birthday, the limited-run model features exclusive styling elements and includes a high-performance experience.

Key Points

  • BMW celebrates Valentino Rossi with the 2025 M4 CS Edition VR46, marking his 46th birthday and iconic MotoGP racing number.
  • Limited to 92 units worldwide, the special edition comes in exclusive Frozen Tanzanite Blue or Marina Bay Blue.
  • Priced at $155,000, European buyers will receive a VIP trip to Rossi's hometown and a Misano track day.

Only 92 units of the M4 CS Edition VR46 will be produced—an even split of 46 cars will be produced in Frozen Tanzanite Blue Metallic and Marina Bay Blue Metallic. Both shades are complemented by Sao Paulo Yellow accents, a nod to Rossi’s signature fluorescent yellow. The dayglo color highlights the grille, wheels, and interior trim.

Inside, the cabin features Black/Night Blue Merino leather M Carbon bucket seats trimmed in Sao Paulo Yellow, with the VR46 logo embroidered on the headrests and door sills. Carbon fiber elements on the center console and a lightweight carbon roof, complete with Rossi's signature, complete the interior design.

Mechanically, the VR46 edition remains unchanged from the M4 CS. The 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six delivers 543 horsepower, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel drive. This setup allows the car to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 188 mph. Performance upfits include electronically adaptive dampers, model-specific wheel camber, custom spring rates, and tunable anti-roll bars, ensuring the VR46 delivers both track-ready capability and road comfort.

The VR46 edition comes with a $155,000 price tag, making it the most expensive M4 BMW has ever produced— exceeding the standard M4 CS by some $25,000.

European buyers receive more than just the car. BMW will offer an exclusive experience in Italy, including a visit to Rossi's hometown of Tavullia for a day at the VR46 Motor Ranch, complete with a barbecue hosted by the Doctor himself. The following day includes a trip to Misano World Circuit, where buyers will sample the latest BMW M models.
