Pros

Premium interior, Improved powertrain, User-friendly technology

Cons

Uninspired Driving Dynamics, Rear comfort and quality, jittery ride quality

Bottom Line

Sleek styling and a comfortable front cabin give the first new Murano in a decade a touch of premium appeal. However, it doesn't deliver much excitement behind the wheel.

Nissan Murano Overview

The Nissan Murano is a mid-sized crossover SUV positioned as a comfortable and technologically equipped vehicle. For the 2026 model year, the Murano comes in three trim levels: SV, SL, and Platinum. All models are now equipped with standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.

The interior features dual 12.3-inch displays, with available Google built-in for navigation and connectivity. The design includes a push-button shifter and capacitive-touch climate controls. Available features aimed at comfort and luxury include semi-aniline leather upholstery, ventilated and massaging front seats, and 64-color ambient lighting. The Murano is equipped with Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of safety features, and has received a TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Camera technologies such as an Invisible Hood View and a 3D Enhanced Intelligent Around View Monitor are available to assist with parking and navigating tight spaces. The starting MSRP for the 2026 Murano SV AWD is $41,470.

What's New for 2026

The most significant update for the 2026 Murano is the availability of ProPILOT Assist 2.1, a hands-free driving system for compatible freeways. It is included in the new Platinum Technology package. Additionally, a new SL Comfort package adds features from the Platinum trim to the SL model, including ventilated and massaging front seats.

Our Final Verdict

The Nissan Murano is worthy of consideration but does not rank as a top pick in its class. While it possesses more character than the Honda Pilot, it is surpassed by competitors like the Honda Passport, Hyundai Palisade, and Kia Telluride. Other models, such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, also offer a more compelling package.

Despite this, the Murano benefits from recent updates and remains one of the more attractive crossovers on the market, representing a decent value. Ultimately, it is a solid middle-of-the-pack option in an intensely competitive segment.
