Ford is recalling 4,653 versions of the brand's 2021-2026 Bronco Sport and 2022-2026 Maverick vehicles. The problem focuses around front lower control arm ball joints that may have been incorrectly installed or incorrectly repaired at the vehicle assembly plant. If put in wrong, the control arm could disconnect from the front wheel knuckle, causing a loss of control.

Ford is advising the affected owners not to drive their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will inspect and repair the front lower control arm ball joints as necessary, free of charge. For customers that are affected, letters about the safety issue should have been mailed on June 4, 2026. A secondary letter will be sent once the fix is available. Owners in the meantime can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.
