2026 BMW iX: All The Details
The 2026 BMW iX has been updated with improvements in power, efficiency, and range across its three available models. The lineup includes the iX xDrive45, which produces 402 horsepower and has an estimated range of up to 312 miles, the iX xDrive60 with 536 horsepower and up to 340 miles of range, and the iX M70 xDrive with 650 horsepower and an estimated 302-mile range. Production is set to begin in March 2025 at BMW's Plant Dingolfing, with deliveries expected in the second quarter.
The iX receives exterior design changes, including a revised grille and headlight structure. The M Sport Package is now available on the xDrive45 and xDrive60, adding sport-oriented design elements such as M Multi-Function seats and unique alloy wheels. New exterior color options have been introduced, along with aerodynamically optimized wheels available in multiple sizes.
Inside, the iX maintains a focus on technology and luxury, with an updated infotainment system based on BMW Operating System 8.5. The iX supports over-the-air software updates and offers in-car gaming and video streaming. The available Climate Comfort Package includes heated surfaces throughout the cabin, and a panoramic electrochromatic roof is standard on higher trims.
Performance upgrades include recalibrated drive systems and updated battery technology. The iX features a silicon carbide inverter for improved energy efficiency and range. Adaptive recuperation adjusts energy recovery based on driving conditions, and a heat pump system optimizes battery and cabin temperature management. Fast charging capabilities allow the iX xDrive45 to charge at up to 175 kW, while the xDrive60 and M70 xDrive can reach 195 kW.
Driver assistance technology includes standard Driving Assistant Plus, which incorporates lane-keeping and collision avoidance features. The optional Highway Assistant allows for hands-free driving on certain highways, and Parking Assistant Professional enables remote-controlled parking via a smartphone.
Pricing starts at $75,150 for the xDrive45, $88,500 for the xDrive60, and $111,500 for the M70 xDrive, excluding destination and handling fees. The new iX reflects BMW’s ongoing shift toward electrification, integrating efficiency improvements while maintaining performance and luxury features.
