2026 BMW iX: All The Details
BMW has given its all-electric iX crossover a refresh for the 2026 model year, bringing modest design tweaks alongside meaningful improvements in power, range, and comfort. The updates ensure the iX remains competitive in the ever-evolving electric SUV market.
With its mix of subtle styling enhancements, improved range, and additional power, the refreshed 2026 BMW iX ensures it remains a strong contender in the luxury EV segment.

The exterior changes are understated but refined. BMW has replaced the triangular grille pattern with diagonal lines, mirroring the styling of the latest X3.
This adds a body-color grille surround, blue brake calipers, and gloss-black bumper accents to the base model. For those seeking a darker aesthetic, the M Sport Professional package swaps these elements for a dark grille surround and red brake calipers.
Additionally, updated wheel designs are available in sizes up to 23 inches, with some made from 70% recycled aluminum to reduce the iX's carbon footprint.
A new silicon carbide inverter increases efficiency, while optimized wheel bearings, tires, and other components improve the overall range by 10%.
The mid-tier xDrive60 (formerly xDrive50) achieves 340 miles, up from 307, thanks to its 113.4 kWh pack.
Meanwhile, the range-topping M70 (replacing the M60) offers 302 miles, a slight improvement over the previous 296 miles.
Improvements to battery pre-conditioning and heat pump utilization mean faster and more consistent charging across a wider range of conditions.
A 10-80% charge now takes 35 minutes, with Plug and Charge functionality at Electrify America stations simplifying the process.
These seats include massage functionality, adjustable backrest width, and more pronounced bolsters, offering greater comfort and support for spirited driving.
Production begins in March at BMW’s Dingolfing plant, with deliveries expected in the second quarter of 2026.
