Subaru Solterra Overview

The 2026 Subaru Solterra enters the new model year with updates to its powertrain, range, and technology. The vehicle is available in four trim levels: Premium, Limited, Limited XT, and Touring XT. The starting MSRP for the entry-level Premium trim remains unchanged at $38,495.

All Solterra models come standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and 8.3 inches of ground clearance. The powertrain in the Premium and Limited trims produces 233 horsepower. A new high-capacity 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery allows for an estimated driving range of up to 288 miles on a single charge. Charging capabilities have been improved with a battery preconditioning system, DC fast charging speeds up to 150 kW, and an 11 kW onboard charger for home use. The vehicle now uses a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port.

Inside, a 14-inch multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is now standard across all trims. The interior also features updated metallic finishes and a redesigned center console. The vehicle is built on a new platform with enhanced body rigidity and a retuned suspension and steering system designed to improve handling and ride comfort. Standard driver-assistance features include Subaru’s EyeSight technology suite.


What’s New for 2026


For the 2026 model year, Subaru introduced significant changes to the Solterra line. A new, more powerful XT model is available, featuring uprated front and rear electric motors that produce a combined 338 horsepower. The vehicle’s maximum range has increased to 288 miles, a result of a larger 74.7-kWh battery.

The charging system has been upgraded to support speeds up to 150 kW and includes battery preconditioning for better performance. The Solterra is built on an entirely new platform with structural and suspension enhancements. Exterior styling has been refreshed with a new lighting signature, redesigned bumpers, new wheel designs, and an updated rear spoiler.
