The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker is an all-electric SUV that builds on the brand’s off-road heritage with standard all-wheel drive, increased cargo capacity, and over 260 miles of range. Larger and more powerful than the Solterra, it introduces new EV-focused design elements and advanced in-cabin technology.

Subaru Trailseeker Overview

Subaru unveiled the Trailseeker, its second fully electric SUV, at the 2025 New York International Auto Show. Positioned as a more capable and spacious alternative to the Solterra, the Trailseeker introduces a new EV platform while retaining the brand’s hallmark Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and off-road-ready focus.

The Trailseeker is powered by dual electric motors that deliver a combined 375 horsepower and enable 0–60 mph acceleration in approximately 4.4 seconds. With up to 3,500 pounds of towing capacity, 8.3 inches of ground clearance, and Subaru’s X-MODE system with terrain-specific drive modes, the Trailseeker is intended for a range of conditions, from daily use to trail driving. It features a 74.7-kWh battery that supports over 260 miles of estimated range and fast charging via a standard NACS port.

In terms of design, the Trailseeker is over six inches longer and nearly an inch taller than the Solterra. It features increased rear cargo volume and roof height, along with standard raised roof rails and available 120V outlet for additional utility. The vehicle also debuts a new EV-specific lighting signature, an illuminated Subaru badge, and a revised front and rear styling package.

Inside, a 14-inch touchscreen leads a redesigned cabin layout, offering a flat floor and expanded legroom. The multimedia system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual wireless charging pads, and USB-C connectivity in both front and rear. Driver assistance features include Subaru’s EyeSight system with a full suite of safety technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Emergency Stop Assist, and a panoramic view monitor.

The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker will be available nationwide beginning in 2026. It is designed to offer more space, power, and range than Subaru’s existing EV offering while maintaining the brand’s emphasis on all-weather performance and practicality.
