2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Backcountry Is A Factory-Built Overlander

Jeep is adding another level to its plug-in hybrid lineup with the introduction of the 2025 Wrangler 4xe Backcountry. Built off the Wrangler 4xe Sahara’s platform, the Backcountry keeps the same plug-in hybrid powertrain that produces 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.
Key Points
- Jeep unveils the 2025 Wrangler 4xe Backcountry, a limited-edition trim priced at $66,185 and restricted to 5,800 units.
- Powered by the same plug-in hybrid system as the 4xe Sahara, delivering 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.
- Features include off-road enhancements like steel bumpers, rock rails, and a trail camera, alongside tech upgrades such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Alpine audio system, and a portable Jeep power box.
Off-road goodies include steel front and rear bumpers, a Mopar grille guard, and rock rails to protect the underbody during challenging trails. A front-facing trail camera is also standard, providing a clear view of the terrain ahead. Unique matte-black 20-inch wheels are wrapped in 275/55R-20 General Grabber all-terrain tires for added capability.
Visually, the Backcountry trim differentiates with decals on the hood, fenders, and rear swing gate. A three-piece body-colored hardtop and a towing package with a receiver hitch and wiring harnesses come standard.
Jeep’s latest special edition features a nine-speaker Alpine audio system and a portable Jeep power box. The power box taps into the hybrid battery, allowing owners to charge devices or power small appliances—ideal for overlanding adventures.
The infotainment system also includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen with built-in navigation, off-road trail guides for 62 Jeep Badge of Honor trails, and an integrated geocaching app. For those who prefer to stay connected, onboard Wi-Fi is available.
The 2025 Wrangler 4xe Backcountry is priced at $66,185 and production is capped at just 5,800 units.
