Honda is recalling approximately 780,000 vehicles in North America due to concerns that a high-pressure fuel pump may crack and leak, increasing the risk of a fire.

The recall affects various models, including the Accord, CR-V Hybrid, and Civic from model years 2023 through 2025. In total, about 720,000 vehicles are being recalled in the U.S., with another 61,000 in Canada.

The issue stems from a defective high-pressure fuel pump core that can crack during driving, potentially causing fuel leaks or a fuel odor while idling or on the move.

Honda has received 145 warranty claims related to the issue but has reported no injuries or accidents so far. The automaker stopped shipping the affected vehicles in September 2023 after confirming the issue.

Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the fuel pump with an improved version free of charge.
