Another 100,000 Hondas Join Takata Recall
There are 104,871 new vehicles being recalled for having potentially lethal airbags from Takata.
The new group of vehicles covered under the recall include the 2008 Honda Pilot, 2001 Accord sedan and 2004 Civic sedan are all a part of the new batch being added. Honda said it hadn’t properly identified the models as being produced for the U.S. market.
In a new advertising campaign, Honda is urging its customers with affected vehicles to have their airbags replaced immediately. In affected models, the airbag inflators may explode with too much force, sending shrapnel into the passenger compartment.
So far, the defective airbags are cause for millions of vehicles to be recalled spanning at least 10 automakers.
