Ford Is Dreaming What An Off-Road Supercar Could Be

Ford may be considering an off-road-focused supercar under the Raptor name.
According to recent comments made by CEO Jim Farley in an interview with Top Gear during a Ford Performance event in Charlotte, North Carolina, the company is considering a standalone high-performance off-roader.
This would be independent of existing models like the F-150, Bronco, and Ranger Raptor.
Ford has been pushing into the off-road performance and motorsport space with factory-backed efforts in the Baja 1000 and the Dakar Rally. Models such as the Porsche 911 Dakar and Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato have already proven there is a high-end market for sports cars with off-road capability, and Ford’s background in off-road racing makes the idea more plausible.
Farley said that the company is still evaluating the project, internally, there are debates about whether Ford should build a dedicated off-road supercar or modify an existing platform. Mark Rushbrook, Ford Performance’s global director, also weighed in, expressing interest in expanding beyond the current Raptor family.

One possible source of inspiration could be Ford’s Raptor T1+ Dakar rally truck—with its carbon body, steel-tube-frame chassis, and a 5.0-liter Coyote V8. The truck’s suspension setup includes long-travel Fox shocks and unequal-length control arms, providing nearly 14 inches of wheel travel and 15.7 inches of ground clearance. It's basically a trophy truck.
While Ford isn’t ready to confirm specifics, the conversation suggests that the company is at least exploring the possibility of a high-performance off-road supercar. To be honest, they should do a reborn RS200—twin-turbo V6, all-wheel-drive, mid-engine—but larger than the original, almost like a Ford GT for the dirt.
