Find everything you need to know about the BMW X6 here, along with expert reviews, specs, photos, videos and more.

The X6 is BMW’s more stylish take on the mid-size X5 SUV. With a raked rear-roofline, the X6 falls into the SUV Coupe category. It only offers two rows of seats and reduced cargo capacity, but this is more of a form over functionality type of vehicle.

Like most BMW products, there are a choice of engine and drivetrain choices. Top amongst them is the 617 hp turbocharged V8 found in the X6 M.

BMW X6 Overview

The 2024 BMW X6, a Sports Activity Coupe, combines updated design, enhanced powertrains, and advanced technology. Available in xDrive40i and M60i xDrive trims, the X6 begins at $73,900, with production starting in April 2023 at BMW's Spartanburg facility.

The xDrive40i model features a 3.0-liter inline-six engine with 375 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, achieving a 0-60 mph time of 5.2 seconds. The M60i xDrive upgrades to a 4.4-liter V8 producing 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, allowing for a 0-60 mph time of 4.2 seconds. Both models include an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and xDrive all-wheel drive.

Exterior updates include slimmer headlights, an enlarged kidney grille, and redesigned taillights. The M60i xDrive comes standard with the M Sport package, adding black exterior trim, aerodynamic enhancements, and quad exhaust tips. Inside, the X6 features the BMW Curved Display with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen, running iDrive 8.

Standard equipment includes sport seats, a panoramic moonroof, and advanced safety systems. Optional features include a head-up display, adaptive M suspension, and upgraded audio systems, ensuring the X6 caters to both luxury and performance enthusiasts.

2024 BMW X6 M60i Review

The BMW X6 is an extrovert’s SUV. It’s the high-riding, multipurpose vehicle for those seeking more flash and visual impact than a regular SUV.

Not only does the X6 fall into the SUV Coupe category, many credit it with creating the segment as we know it today. As a quick refresher, SUV Coupes feature more coupe-like styling with sloping rear rooflines. They have four doors but resemble big fastbacks more than a traditional SUV.
