Audi A6 Overview
The Audi A6 is a mid-size luxury sedan that balances performance with comfort and technology. It comes standard with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine and Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The powertrain is engineered to produce 362 horsepower and 406 lb.-ft. of torque, enabling the sedan to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
The A6's suspension system offers several configurations, including a standard setup, a lower sport suspension, and an adaptive air suspension for a wider range between comfort and dynamic handling. To improve refinement, significant attention has been given to aeroacoustics, with features like acoustic glass and enhanced sound insulation to create a quieter cabin.
Inside, the A6 features a driver-focused cockpit centered around a curved MMI panoramic display, which combines the virtual cockpit and the main touchscreen. An optional display for the front passenger is also available. The interior design utilizes a variety of materials, including wood, leatherette, and Dinamica micro-suede, complemented by configurable ambient lighting. The exterior is characterized by a low Singleframe grille, pronounced lines over the wheels known as quattro blisters, and customizable digital LED lighting signatures.
What's New for 2026
The ninth-generation 2026 Audi A6 introduces several notable updates and features.
- Increased Performance: The standard 3.0L V6 engine has been revised to produce an additional 27 horsepower and 37 lb.-ft. of torque compared to the previous generation.
- Enhanced Handling Options: For the first time, performance hardware previously exclusive to S models, such as all-wheel steering and a sport rear differential, is available on the core A6 through an optional Sport plus package.
- Redesigned Digital Cockpit: The interior is built around the new Audi MMI panoramic display, a large, curved screen that serves as the instrument cluster and infotainment hub. A 10.9-inch passenger display is also a new option.
- Advanced Lighting: The exterior lighting is now customizable, offering drivers a choice of seven available digital light signatures for the headlights and optional OLED taillights.
- Improved Comfort: A new six-segment switchable panoramic glass roof, called the "digital curtain," increases front headroom. Optional acoustic glazing is now available for the rear side windows to further reduce cabin noise.
