Volvo Hopes The 2026 XC60 Refresh Will Keep You Interested

As it heads into its ninth year on the market, the Volvo XC60 is getting fresh updates.
The mild rework is aimed at keeping Volvo's best-seller competitive in an increasingly competitive market. Exterior changes are modest, but the automaker has focused on interior enhancements and tech upgrades to keep the midsize SUV relevant.
The XC60 was last refreshed in 2021, updating the grille, wheels, and infotainment system. For 2026, the most visible change is a revised grille inspired by the XC90, with overlapping diagonal lines. The taillights were given a darker tint, imparting the rear end with a bit more pop. Volvo also added new wheel designs and additional paint options for buyers seeking more personalization.
2026 Volvo XC60: All The Details
Inside, the XC60 gets a bigger 11.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, up from 9.0 inches. The display now boasts better pixel density for sharper visuals and runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, which Volvo claims doubles performance speed and is ten times faster at generating graphics.
This upgraded infotainment system, with multiple Google services built-in, will also be available in other Volvo models later this year. Volvo plans to update vehicles built as far back as 2020 with this new interface via an over-the-air update later in 2025.
The cabin update includes new premium materials, including Quilted Nordico and Navy Herringbone Weave. Additional small touches, like an improved wireless phone charger and revised cupholders, round out the interior updates.
Under the hood, Volvo isn’t changing the XC60’s powertrain options. The U.S. lineup will continue offering a 247 hp 2.0-liter mild-hybrid B5 engine and the 455 hp T8 plug-in hybrid (PHEV), which replaces the mild-hybrid’s 48-volt setup with a battery-powered motor. European buyers will also have access to the 345 hp T6 PHEV variant.
While pricing details for the 2026 XC60 will be announced closer to its on-sale date, the updates suggest Volvo is intent on keeping its best-selling SUV fresh with just the right mix of modern tech and classic Scandinavian design.
