Toyota is bringing back a color we haven't seen for a while: Yuzu Yellow. The bright, eye-catching paint is a throwback to the 2014 Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0, which last featured the distinct Yuzu Yellow.

Key Points

  • The popular, vibrant Yuzu Yellow color, originally featured on the 2014 Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0, is making a comeback in the 2026 GR86 Special Edition
  • The 2026 GR86 Yuzu Special Edition comes equipped with Sachs dampers and Brembo brakes, enhancing its track-ready performance. It also features upgraded throttle mapping for smoother downshifts and a more refined driving experience.
  • Only 860 units of the GR86 Yuzu Special Edition will be available for the U.S. market

The 2026 GR86 Yuzu Special Edition definitely pops—in more ways than one. Based on the GR86 Premium grade, the special edition features 18-inch matte–black wheels and a few performance-focused upgrades like Brembo brakes, Sachs dampers, and an optional GR cat–back exhaust.

Under the hood, the GR86 continues with the same 228-horsepower boxer engine but with improved throttle mapping that Toyota claims will deliver smoother downshifts, particularly for drivers who enjoy the manual dance. The six-speed manual transmission offers more direct control over the car’s performance compared to the optional six-speed automatic.

Inside, the GR86 Yuzu edition's sport seats are upholstered in Ultrasuede with yellow contrast stitching, complemented by yellow accents on the gear shift boot and steering wheel. Toyota has added subtle but distinctive touches to the interior, making it feel special while keeping the focus on the driving experience.

There's also an optional body kit available—which you should definitely get—adding a front chin spoiler, side skirts, and a rear lip spoiler.

Toyota says buyers of the GR86 Yuzu Edition will receive a complimentary 1-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association. But the automaker is only producing 860 units for the U.S. market, so you better call our favorite Toyota dealership to get your hands on one. Look for them to start showing up this fall.

Cool looking car but at this point I'd spend a few extra bucks and get a Nissan Z with a much more compelling engine.
