Ford Recalling A Huge Chunk Of 2025 F-150s and Super Duty Trucks

Ford is recalling more than 355,000 of its newest trucks in the United States due to a defect with their instrument panel display, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The recall affects 2025 F-150s as well as 2025–2026 model year F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty pickups. The problem is with the instrument panel cluster, which controls the digital dashboard display for critical information such as speed, fuel level, and warning lights.


Regulators say an instrument panel that fails to show critical information like vehicle speed or warning lights increases the risk of a crash. Ford has received 95 warranty claims related to this specfic issue, dating back to January of this year. According to NHTSA documents, 278,376 F-150s are affected, while 77,280 Super Dutys are captured by the recall action. Ford says 100% of the recalled population is affected.

To fix the problem, Ford will roll out a software update that can be installed at dealerships by a mechanic or delivered over the air (OTA), with no cost to owners. Owners of affected trucks will be notified in the coming weeks, with instructions on how to arrange the repair.


The automaker has not reported any crashes or injuries related to the defect.

    Ford quality issues again.... maybe they should take up building simple things like septic tanks or mouse traps.

    It's a software issue? If true, what about other engine/transmission/emissions software problems that don't trip an idiot light? Why would I trust any software driven controller in any Ford (or other brand for that matter) to provide accurate system management if the repair is just a software update? Seems like auto companies are happy having their customers work as unpaid testers for their Beta Release products!


    BTW, I have an old 2003 Mercedes that had a similar problem when a portion of the instrument panel went dark. Solution - pop the cluster and install two tiny light bulbs to relight the display. I replaced the bulbs with LED's for longer life, despite the fact the original filament bulbs lasted 22 years. Today's technology is far too fragile to "bet your life on"!
