2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Delivers 600-HP Without the V8

Dodge is breathing fresh life into one of Mopar's most storied stickers.

The 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee joins the crew as the most juiced-up version of the gas-powered Sixpack Chargers—unlike the old Super Bee, the 2027 car foregoes traditional V8 muscle for a twin-turbocharged inline-six built to attack corners as aggressively as the drag strip.

Under the hood sits an upgraded version of Stellantis’ 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output inline-six engine. To push output from the standard model's 550 horsepower up to an even 600, Dodge engineers screwed on a pair of larger 56mm Garrett turbochargers capable of cramming over 30 psi of boost down the intake tract, revised the engine calibration, and reworked the cooling package. While peak torque remains unchanged at 531 pound-feet, the mechanical tweaks allow all that twist to arrive 500 rpm earlier in the powerband at 3,000 rpm.

Power routes through the same eight-speed automatic transmission to an advanced all-wheel-drive system. Dodge claims the 600-hp Super Bee will sprint from zero to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and clear the quarter-mile in 11.8 seconds—shaving a few tenths off the standard Scat Pack.

Drivers looking to shred rear rubber can engage a dedicated drift mode that completely decouples the front axle, routing 100 percent of the torque exclusively to the rear tires.

Rather than relying purely on straight-line speed, the Super Bee also gets a chassis overhaul engineered for the track.

The redesigned fascia has a textured grille and fresh Fratzog badging that feeds air into secondary auxiliary radiators while helping generate over 100 pounds of downforce at 150 mph.

Engineers fitted continuous damping control dual-valve adaptive dampers, stiffer front springs, a 20-percent stiffer rear anti-roll bar, and firmer front suspension bushings. Slowing the rig is a set of 16-inch Brembo rotors clamped by six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, wrapped inside 20-inch gloss-black forged wheels wearing sticky 305-section Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 summer rubber.

Inside, the Super Bee trades leather for retro-inspired cloth sport seats with aggressive side bolsters, body-color Citrus Peel inserts, and embroidered headrest emblems. Drivers are greeted by a flat-bottom steering wheel with oversized paddle shifters, dedicated Drag and Track telemetry modes, and an integrated 1080p drive recorder to log track sessions.

Production of the initial Super Bee Launch Edition will be limited, with assembly taking place alongside the standard Charger at Stellantis’ Windsor plant in Ontario. Launch Edition models will offer three distinct appearance packages led by a high-visibility "Sucker Punch" yellow-green scheme with gloss-black hood graphics. Pricing and official market release dates will be detailed closer to production.

Impressive numbers, but when is Dodge going to GET IT? We don't care. People were squeezing 600hp out of a Hayabusa 1.4L engine with giant turbos 20 years ago. Most people want the V8 rumble, they want the torque, and we are mostly going to cruise with these cars and enjoy the sound. Oh well maybe one of these years they will figure it out and get their price points right.

V8 bitter clingers. That silly old torque reading on the slix just awful.
