What’s New on the 2027 Lexus GX 550?
Lexus has announced subtle updates for the 2027 GX 550, expanding standard convenience features while maintaining the midsize luxury SUV's body-on-frame platform and twin-turbocharged V6 powertrain.
2027 Lexus GX Standard Tech Upgrades and Interior Convenience
The primary changes for the 2027 model year focus on passenger comfort and ease of entry.
SmartAccess keyless entry expands to cover all four passenger doors and the rear tailgate as standard equipment on every trim level, replacing the previous front-door-only setup. Further up the trim ladder, Lexus has added standard ventilated rear outboard seats to the Luxury, Luxury+, and Overtrail+ grades, providing cooling comfort for second-row passengers.
The rest of the cabin architecture carries over unchanged. A 14-inch touchscreen running the Lexus Interface software remains standard, alongside a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Seating arrangements continue to span three-row configurations for up to seven passengers on Premium and Luxury grades, as well as a dedicated two-row, five-passenger layout on the Overtrail models.
GA-F Platform and Twin-Turbo V6 Power
Mechanically, the 2027 GX 550 carries over the exact powertrain and chassis specs introduced with its full redesign. Power stems from the 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The setup generates 349 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, enabling a maximum towing capacity of 9,096 pounds. Full-time four-wheel drive with a Torsen limited-slip locking center differential remains standard equipment across the board.
The off-road-focused Overtrail and Overtrail+ trims retain their mechanical hardware, including an electronic locking rear differential, a factory one-inch suspension lift delivering 9.84 inches of ground clearance, and 33-inch all-terrain tires.
These models also feature the Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS), which automatically disconnects and reconnects the front and rear anti-roll bars to maximize suspension articulation over rough terrain.
2027 Lexus GX Pricing Breakdown
The 2027 Lexus GX 550 is offered across six grades.
Base pricing opens at $69,085 for the entry-level Premium, moves to $73,400 for the Premium+, and reaches $76,730 for the Overtrail. The higher-end trims command $81,600 for the Luxury, $85,010 for the Overtrail+, and $85,600 for the range-topping Luxury+.
All prices include a $1,550 delivery, processing, and handling fee. Built at the Tahara assembly plant in Japan, the updated SUV will begin arriving at North American dealerships later this year.

3.4liters and only 349 hp .Thats normally aspirated territory. Why not more power ?One thing for sure is it will be a way better vehicle than anything else especially the highly overrated high maintenance, high depreciating german junk .
