The 10 SUVs People Want Right Now

The Jeep Wrangler has been the most-researched SUV in America since we started tracking the numbers. That doesn’t change for May 2025.
For the fourth straight month, Jeep’s ruggedly iconic Wrangler leads the list of America’s most-researched vehicles. There’s movement in the order below the Jeep, though the vehicles that made up the top 10 last month are the same ones that make up the top 10 this month.

In second place behind the Wrangler sits the ever-popular full-size Chevrolet Tahoe, followed by the recently redesigned Toyota 4Runner and popular Jeep Grand Cherokee. As we say every month when we examine this list, our data partner AutoFinder.com — an automotive marketplace featuring over 3 million new and used vehicle listings, connecting consumers with top dealerships nationwide to easily find and secure the best deal on a car, truck or SUV — considers the Nissan Pathfinder, Hyundai Santa Fe and Honda Pilot to be SUVs instead of crossovers, and that trio comes in sixth through eighth place.
Ford directly targeted the Jeep Wrangler with the Bronco that it reintroduced for the 2021 model year, and it also landed a spot solidly in the top 10 most-researched SUV list. The massive Chevy Suburban finds itself in ninth.
The Dodge Durango has been around in its current form (with some nips and tucks here and there along the way) since the 2011 model year. That makes it easily the eldest member to land in the top 10, though to be fair it barely made the cut and we’re not including popular car-based crossovers like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V or Hyundai Palisade on the SUV list.
Speaking of which…

It comes as little surprise that the best-selling crossover in America is also the most-researched crossover in America. The Hyundai Palisade has charged up the charts in the last few months, landing in second place in May. Other popular compact crossovers like the Chevy Equinox, Nissan Rogue and Honda CR-V also land in the top 10, though we’re a bit surprised by their finishing order.
The Lexus RX 350 is the only crossover wearing a premium badge to land in the top 10 most-researched list. Four of the crossovers to make the top 10 list offer space for three rows of passengers: the Palisade (second), Chevrolet Traverse (sixth), Ford Explorer (ninth) and Toyota Grand Highlander (10th).
