The 10 SUVs People Want Right Now

Sport utility vehicles make up the bulk of the best-seller’s list, and these are the hottest SUVs online
Picture yourself driving along a gravel road on your way to a perfectly pristine beach. It’s sunny, so the car’s top is off. There aren’t many people on this remote stretch of coastline because it’s pretty difficult to get to and the road isn’t typically maintained. What are you driving?
Probably a Jeep Wrangler.
Jeep’s quintessential off-roader has been a hot seller for decades, and, according to data provided exclusively to AutoGuide via AutoFinder.com, an automotive marketplace featuring over 3 million new and used vehicle listings, the Wrangler was also the most researched SUV in the United States last month. In second place is the Toyota 4Runner, followed by the Ford Bronco.

2. Toyota 4Runner |
3. Ford Bronco |
4. Chevrolet Tahoe |
5. Honda Pilot |
6. Jeep Grand Cherokee |
7. Hyundai Santa Fe |
8. Nissan Pathfinder |
9. GMC Yukon |
10. Chevrolet Suburban |
March was the second month in a row that the Jeep Wrangler led the most-researched SUV list. In February, the Bronco came in second and the 4Runner in fifth, but this month Toyota’s newly redesigned SUV surged up the rankings. The Chevy Tahoe and Jeep Grand Cherokee each dropped a spot, and the Chevy Suburban moved up into 10th, replacing the three-row Grand Cherokee L that fell off this most recent list.
Generally, a sport utility vehicle differs from a crossover by virtue of its rugged body-on-frame design and the existence of a proper transfer case that spits power equally between the front and rear wheels. A crossover’s more car-like design – generally a unibody with an engine that predominantly powers the front wheels but can send power to the rear in low-traction situations – results in a more car-like driving experience.
These results are powered by Detroit Trading Company, which is a partner for AutoGuide's car shopping experience, and they lump the Pilot, Santa Fe and Pathfinder with more traditional SUVs. We’d say they fall into the crossover camp. SUVs like the Jeep Wrangler, Toyota 4Runner and Ford Bronco are great off the beaten path, but aren’t always comfortable on the road full of people and their cargo. That’s why crossovers are so popular, combining rough-and-tumble looks with reasonable efficiency and good space inside.

2. Honda CR-V |

8. Hyundai Tucson |
9. Toyota Grand Highlander |
10. Toyota Highlander |
It’s no surprise to see the RAV4 and CR-V atop the crossover list, considering those are the two best-selling CUVs in America. The Hyundai Palisade is a new entry into the top 10 this month, while the Ford Explorer, ninth last month, falls outside the top 10. Besides the Palisade, the Subaru Forester made the biggest jump this month, landing in fifth from 10th last month.

Maybe it should be the Bronco Sport. I really don't see many actual Broncos on the road.
