The 10 Cars People Are Shopping For Right Now

Ford F-Series trucks have sat atop the best-selling vehicle list in the United States for 48 years, led by the F-150 half-ton pickup. So it comes as little surprise that the F-150 is also the most researched vehicle in America.

The top 10 cars people are researching the most right now align closely with the best-sellers list, but there are a few noteworthy surprises.

America’s love of trucks is evident in the list, with six of the top-10 most searched vehicles in February proudly wearing a pickup bed, according to data provided exclusively to AutoGuide via AutoFinder.com — an automotive marketplace featuring over 3 million new and used vehicle listings, connecting consumers with top dealerships nationwide to easily find and secure the best deal on a car, truck or SUV.

Top 10 Cars Researched In February 2025

1. Ford F-150

2. Toyota RAV4

3. Chevrolet Silverado 1500

4. Ram 1500

5. Toyota Camry

6. Toyota Tacoma

7. GMC Sierra 1500

8. Jeep Wrangler

9. Honda CR-V

10. Ford Maverick

The Toyota RAV4 is the best-selling sport utility vehicle in America and lands in second place on the most-researched list, sandwiched between the two most popular pickups. Similarly, the Toyota Camry is the most-popular sedan in the States, and its position in fifth place on this list makes it the most researched, too.

Absent from the top 10 most-researched list (and in fact absent from the top 25 overall) are any electric cars. The Tesla Model Y was the fourth best-selling vehicle in the United States in 2024 but doesn’t garner nearly as much online research as its sales numbers would indicate. This is due, in part, to Tesla’s unique sales model, which exists outside of the conventional dealer-focused lead-generation funnel.

The Jeep Wrangler is an interesting inclusion in the top 10 most-researched list. It’s outsold in Jeep showrooms by the Grand Cherokee (the 12th best-selling vehicle in America last year), but its lasting top-down, off-road, and rugged appeal lands it in eighth spot on our list.

The Ford Maverick is another outlier in the top 10. The Blue Oval’s smallest truck sells in solid numbers, but its search scores significantly outweigh its sales figures in America.

Breaking the numbers down further, AutoFinder.com, which is powered by Detroit Trading Company (a partner for AutoGuide's car shopping experience), gathers millions of new car leads every month and represents 35,000 vehicle purchases and $1 billion in automotive sales each month, counts the F-150 Lightning separately from the rest of Ford’s half-ton trucks. The Lightning was the second-most-researched EV in America last month, just behind the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
