New Lamborghini Temerario Sounds Disappointing
Lamborghini's new supercar was spotted out testing in Spain, giving us not only a great look at the new supercar but also a chance to really listen to the new twin-turbo hybrid V8 powertrain.
As someone who's spent his fair share of time up the booty end of Lamborghini's Huracan GT3 and Huracan Super Trofeo race cars, I'm a bit disappointed with the aural signature of the new hybrid powertrain. Sure, the new engine delivers 789 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque—three electric motors boost the total output to over 887 horsepower– and the engine boasts an impressive 10,000-rpm redline, unfortunately, it lacks the frenzied urgency tugging at the seams of sanity we've become used to from Lamborghini's creations.
The spy video also gives us a great look at many of the Temerario's design elements. It's design is familial, taking after its big sibling, the Revuelto, with daytime running lights forming a "Y" shape. The exhaust and taillights share a hex design and the rear bumper has a distinct fanged look, with its corners shaved off, revealing the thick rubber. An aggressive diffuser completes the look and likely provides a serviceable aero effect. Look for Lamborghini to debut the Temerario on August 16 at Pebble Beach.

That video doesn’t tell us much because we have no idea what mode the exhaust was in nor do we know how hard it was accelerating. Based on the sounds of Ferrari V8TT cars the Lambo sounds like the exhaust is valved to the quietest position.
