As the 2024 Formula 1 season nears conclusion after this week's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the paddock is buzzing with developments and speculations. From team dynamics to regulatory changes, here's a snapshot of the latest happenings in the F1 world.

Max Verstappen and George Russell are openly feuding following the events of last week's Qatar Grand Prix; Esteban Ocon is officially out at Alpine, making way early for young Jack Doohan to get acclimated to the team during a proper race weekend.

The season-ending test will take place next week, with some drivers eligible to drive for their new teams right away, while others, like Lewis Hamilton, will not be released from their contractual obligations.

Audi's F1 Project: Full Speed Ahead

Contrary to earlier speculations about potential delays, Audi remains firmly on track for its 2026 Formula 1 debut. The German automaker has bolstered its commitment by selling a significant minority stake in its F1 team to the Qatar Investment Authority.

Sergio Pérez's Time at Red Bull Is Likely Over

Sergio Pérez's tenure with Red Bull Racing is under the microscope following a challenging season. Despite holding a contract through 2025, team advisor Helmut Marko has expressed dissatisfaction with Pérez's performance, leading to intensified speculation about his future with the team. Perez's replacement is most likely to come from Red Bull's junior team, VCARB, who currently fields Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson.

Cadillac's Green Light for 2026 F1 Entry

The paddock is still buzzing after Cadillac secured approval to join Formula 1 as the 11th team starting in 2026. This move aligns with F1's expansion strategy in the U.S. and marks a notable addition to the grid. The GM-backed team recently announced Graeme Lowden as its new boss.

Constructor's Still To Play For

The 2024 World Constructor's Championship is still up for grabs during this weekend's Grand Prix. McLaren currently holds a 21-point advantage over Ferrari. McLaren last won the Constructors' Championship in 1998, while Ferrari's last title came in 2008. McLaren can seal the title by scoring just 24 points this weekend even if Ferrari takes victory, that total drops to 13 points if Ferrari doesn't claim the top step. Ferrari needs to outscore McLaren by 22 points to claim the title, something the Scuderia has only done once this season.
