The 2025 Kia K4 Is Here To Take On The Establishment

The Kia K4 is all new for 2025, with a new fastback design and a techy new interior wrapped in a compact sedan silhouette.

The new K4, measuring 185 inches long, is just a smidge larger than the current Toyota Corolla. It’s certainly a more stylish alternative, with standard LED lights meant to invoke Kia’s flagship EV9 and hidden rear door handles (look for them in the C-pillar). Five trims will be available: LX, LXS, EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo.

The K4 offers two powertrains: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder and a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The former puts out 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque via a CVT automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the turbocharged motor makes a more robust 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft. of torque through an 8-speed automatic that can be manually shifted via paddles on the wheel. No matter what, the K4’s front wheels remain the only ones that are driven.

Inside, a pair of screens behind a single piece of glass (totaling more than 30 inches of display space, per Kia) dominates the interior. This is also the standard infotainment setup regardless of trim. Thankfully, Kia has left physical controls for things like the cabin temperature, key infotainment functions, and volume.

Other more nuanced controls can also be saved to a Quick Controls tab on the center screen for easier access. Wireless connectivity for your phone is standard as well, and a new myQ Connected Garage feature available on GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo models lets owners open their garage via controls in the touchscreen. An available Digital Key 2.0 feature lets owners open, start, and share access to their car via a smartphone or with a credit-card-sized smart card.

Further in-car technology comes in the form of various advanced driver-aid systems. Standard aids include intelligent speed limit assist, lane-keep assistance, forward collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control that will work in stop-and-go traffic. A more advanced forward collision avoidance system is available on GT-Line Turbo models, which can detect vehicles entering an intersection in front of the car.

An available Highway Driving Assist system also adds steering assistance and lane-keeping to the car’s adaptive cruise control system, while an available rear-cross traffic alert system will help you avoid backing into oncoming cars. Unfortunately, pricing and fuel economy figures haven’t been announced yet, though Kia says the K4 is available now.
