Ford Offers You Extra Power For $995
Ford has just released a new DLC (downloadable content) for the 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT, adding a significant performance boost to the electric SUV.
This Performance Upgrade, available exclusively for the GT trims, unlocks an additional 100 pound-feet of torque from the dual electric motors. The extra jam brings the total output to a hefty 480 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque and delivers a 3.3-second 0-to-60 mph time. The enhancement can be accessed by selecting the option on a new purchase, or downloading it via the FordPass app for existing 2024 Mach-E GT owners–the cost is $995 plus tax.
Ford says with the upgrade the Mach-E GT is now quicker than the Porsche Macan 4S Electric, which clocks in at 3.9 seconds, and faster than Tesla's Model Y Performance which sits at 3.5 seconds. Additionally, the Mach-E GT now claims more range than the Model Y.
Chet Dhruna, general manager of Ford's Integrated Services team said, "Software ‘is’ the differentiator. Soon, we’ll be offering seamless, always-on delivery of software updates to enable more new apps and services, and we’ll continue to create amazing, personalized experiences."
