Max Verstappen Crowned 2024 Formula 1 World Champion

Max Verstappen has solidified his place among Formula 1's greatest drivers, securing his fourth consecutive World Championship title at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
The Red Bull Racing driver joins an elite group of drivers with four or more championships, including legends like Alain Prost, Sebastian Vettel, Juan Manuel Fangio, Lewis Hamilton, and Michael Schumacher.
Not since his first championship in 2021 has Verstappen faced this much adversity during the season. His 2023 season was pure domination, but 2024 presented its own set of challenges. Max will finish the season as the winningest driver, having already accrued eight wins this year with two races to run, but his car wasn’t always the fastest. Six other drivers achieved multiple race wins in 2024 making it one of F1's most varied seasons.
Nevertheless, Verstappen's consistency, including a fifth place in Las Vegas, ensured that his fourth title chip was secured with races remaining in Qatar and Abu Dhabi to close out the season.
Despite Verstappen sewing up the WDC, the battle for the Constructors' Championship remains wide open. McLaren holds a narrow lead with 608 points, ahead of Ferrari at 584 and Red Bull at 555. McLaren’s consistency has been key this season, however, Ferrari's late-season performance has been strong enough to vault the Scuderia into contention for the title.
