Toyota Recalls 766K Vehicles Over Airbag Issues…Again
For the second time, Toyota is calling back vehicles in the United States over airbag issues that went unfixed during a previous recall.
A group of 510,000 vehicles were first recalled by Toyota in April 2013, with the company saying that just 170,000 of them had a defect but that every vehicle needed to be inspected. Now, Toyota is saying that its part supplier, Takata, provided them with incomplete information at the time of the first recall, resulting in this recall which will see 766,00 vehicles in the United States get a part swap.

The issue is an airbag inflater which can crack resulting in the possibility of metal debris being sent into the passenger compartment or thermal damage to the instrument panel. The affected vehicles include the 2003 and 2004 Toyota Corolla, Matrix and Tundra, while the 2002 through 2004 Sequoia and Lexus SC 430 are also included.
The original recall also affected Honda, Nissan, BMW and Mazda, as all of these companies purchased airbags from the Takata Corporation.

My dealer is in F.but I an in Mass. until Oct. Should I expect a Springfield Toyota dealer to fix the airbag recall?
