These Are The Pre-Owned SUVs People Want In America

The American dream must include an SUV parked in the driveway.
According to iSeeCars.com, 65 of the top 100 best-selling used vehicles in America were either SUVs or crossovers last year, and the most popular of them all was the Chevrolet Equinox. Chevy’s compact crossover came in 4th position overall, behind a trio of full-size pickup trucks from Ford, Chevrolet, and Ram.

Here are the top 10 most popular used SUVs last year along with their overall spot in the top 100:

Interestingly, the Chevy Equinox is especially popular in Michigan, taking the top position overall in Detroit and the Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo metro areas with nearly 5% of the used car market. Other areas led by the Equinox include Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Chicago, and Baltimore.

Hartford/New Haven and Philadelphia favored the Nissan Rogue, the Boston metro area was led by the Toyota RAV4, and New Yorkers bought used Honda CR-Vs at a faster rate than any other vehicle.
The most popular used electric SUV was the Tesla Model Y at number 74 overall, joining its Model 3 sibling (30th) as the only EVs to make the top 100. The Ford Explorer came in as the most popular used SUV with three rows of seats.
This list was compiled using data that includes more than 7.7 used vehicle sales in 2024. Only vehicles sold from the last five model years (2019-2023) were included.
