Hyundai just unveiled the newly redesigned Ioniq 6 at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show. The updated model builds on the Ioniq 6's original "streamliner" design, which debuted in 2022.

Key Points

  • Hyundai unveils a refreshed Ioniq 6 with improved proportions, a streamlined silhouette, and refined aerodynamics, continuing the "Pure Flow, Refined" design philosophy
  • The performance-focused Ioniq 6 N Line debuts with aggressive styling inspired by the RN22e Rolling Lab
  • Hyundai teases the high-performance Ioniq 6 N, expected to be revealed in July 2025

The updated exterior design work mostly focused on the car's nose. It adopts the brand's squinty front-end design already seen on the Elantra, Sonata, and Kona—this gives the Ioniq 6 more horizontal width and takes vertical depth off the nose, giving the car a more muscular stance. Hyundai says it represents the brand's "Pure Flow, Refined" design philosophy. From the right angle, it has a Porsche 930 slant nose vibe to it.

There's a black garnish trim on the lower body line between the wheel wells; it helps slim and scuplt the car's shape and provides a two-tone contrast. There's also a new extended ducktail spoiler, which replaces the trunk spoiler of the outgoing model. Hyundai says the new ducktail functionally increases the Ioniq 6's aerodynamic efficiency. Some forums claim the spoilers were developing condensation in them—it's possible that factored into the design change.

Inside, the 2026 Ioniq 6's cabin maintains the "Mindful Cocoon" ethos, the updates are subtler than the prominent nose job. It gains a redesigned steering wheel and upgraded door trim materials that Hyundai says, offer buyers a more premium feel.

The center console has also been reworked to improve functionality, and the climate control display has been enlarged for ease of use—this should make things more intuitive and comfortable for drivers.

Hyundai also introduced the Ioniq 6 N Line, which draws design inspiration from the RN22e Rolling Lab concept. The N Line brings a more aggressive look with a more muscular bumper with winged strakes, and defined inlet ducting. It visually widens and lowers the car’s stance compared to the regular 6's chin spoiler.

Hyundai also promised the top-shelf Ioniq 6 N will be revealed in July 2025—you can see the car's high wing and Performance Blue paint between the Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 6 N Line. It will join the Ioniq 5 N as the brand pushes toward a more performance-oriented electrified lineup. The Ioniq 6 N should at least match the Ioniq 5 N's 641 horsepower; a 0-60 mph time of like 3.0 seconds and a top speed of around 165 miles per hour sounds about right.

Look for pricing, range, and performance data for the 2026 Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 6 N Line to follow in the coming months as we get closer to the car's North American market launch.
