No surprise that Maintenance & DIY Repairs is in the top of the list. Most vehicles produced in or for the American market are overpriced crap that cost a fortune to both maintain and especially repair. Just had to buy a $35 serpentine belt tensioner that failed. Sure was a lot easier and cheaper in the old days to just loosen the alternator bolts and pull the alternator back a little to re-tension the "fan" belt. Of course, I did this repair myself because local labor for this simple task is now running about $140+/hr, not counting the cost of the OEM (read Chinese) part.
