Find everything you need to know about the Lincoln Corsair here, along with expert reviews, specs, photos, videos and more.

The compact Corsair is Lincoln’s entry in this competitive luxury SUV segment. It’s more of a premium comfort SUV like the Infiniti QX50 and Lexus NX rather than a sport SUV like the BMW X3 and Porsche Macan.

Unlike many of its rivals, the Corsair can be had with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. The naturally aspirated four cylinder and electric motor produce class-competitive power and impressive fuel economy.

Lincoln Corsair Overview

The Lincoln Corsair is the brand's entry into the ultra-competitive compact luxury SUV segment. While it shares its underpinnings with the Ford Escape, the Corsair establishes its own identity with a distinctly luxurious and comfortable cabin. High-end finishes and available features, like Lincoln's highly adjustable seats and the BlueCruise hands-free driving system, elevate the interior experience.

The standard powertrain is a 250-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that provides adequate performance. A 266-hp plug-in hybrid option is also available, though it is exclusive to the top-tier Grand Touring trim. While the Corsair delivers on Lincoln's promise of quiet comfort, its driving dynamics are less engaging than those of many key rivals. With an attractive starting price, it presents a strong value proposition based on luxury, but buyers seeking a more spirited driving experience might consider competitors like the Audi Q5, BMW X3, or Genesis GV70.

What's New for 2025

Updates for the 2025 model year are minor. The Jet Appearance Package, which adds black exterior trim and 20-inch wheels, is now available on the top Grand Touring trim in addition to the lower trims. The exterior paint palette has also been updated, with Crystal White, Harbor Gray, and Light Smoked Truffle replacing similar previous colors.

2023 Lincoln Corsair Review: First Drive

Lincoln’s bestselling Corsair SUV has been refreshed for 2023, and there’s a lot going on here beyond the somewhat modest exterior styling changes that meet the eye.

In addition to exterior design freshening, the Corsair also receives an interior update, an enhanced BlueCruise driver assist suite, a larger multimedia display, more connected tech and a revised powertrain lineup.

On the outside, the Corsair receives a larger grille, wing-shaped daytime running lights and new wheel designs. For the plug-in hybrid Grand Touring model, its grille features a sundown satin metallic foil with blue accents to separate it from gas-powered models.

2022 Acura RDX vs 2022 Lincoln Corsair Comparison

What we have here are two ends of the luxury compact SUV spectrum. It’s the Acura RDX vs Lincoln Corsair comparison.

Every automaker has an entry in this segment. Some aim more for traditional luxury, prioritizing smooth progress and effortless waftability. Others go sporty, with powerful engines and aggressive styling.

We’ve collected an example from each approach here. The Acura RDX has one of the strongest four-cylinder engines in this space, with a dramatic interior that makes no bones about its focus. On the other hand is the Lincoln Corsair, which promises the sort of fuss-free roadtrip attitude that makes the Navigator such an appealing package, only three sizes smaller.

Managing Editor Mike Schlee and I kicked off the new year with a week in both. What we found were two SUVs with distinct strengths—and two SUVs that bucked our expectations.
