VIDEO: Hands-On With the Ram 'Dude' and Dodge Charger Sixpack
At the SEMA 2025 show in Las Vegas, Mopar pulled the covers off two concepts that blend classic Mopar heritage with modern performance: a lowered Ram sport truck called the "Dude" and a 550-horsepower Charger "Sixpack."
AutoGuide.com's James Reeves spoke with Mark from the Mopar design team to get the details on these two eye-catching builds. SEMA is all about sparking interest and getting customer feedback, and Mopar’s booth was built to do just that.
The "Dude" Returns
The first concept, a Ram truck finished in bright Sublime Green, resurrects a nostalgic nameplate: "The Dude."
"The original 'Dude' was actually a 1970-71 Dodge Ram sport truck," Mark explained, noting that comedian Don Knotts was the original spokesperson.
Mopar's 2025 version reimagines the concept for the modern era. The truck is lowered, sits on 22-inch wheels, and features a newly designed "Dude" logo complete with a cowboy hat.
According to Mark, this build is Mopar's first major step into the resurgent "sport truck" market. It's also a platform to showcase features like the "Symbol of Protest" badge, which Mopar reintroduced for V8-equipped Ram trucks after strong customer demand.
When asked by Reeves to rate the truck's production chances on the "SEMA Scale" (with 1 being "never" and 10 being "next week"), Mark gave it a hopeful "five."
"A lot of potential, a lot of good feedback," Mark said. "And that's what helps fuel us to make it to production."
The "Six-Pack" Packs a 550-HP Punch
The second star of the booth was the "Sixpack" Charger, painted in a vibrant "Striker Purple." This concept is all about performance, showcasing Mopar's new twin-turbo Hurricane engine.
"This Six-Pack has 550 horsepower," Mark confirmed. "This is now actually available for customers to purchase with this drivetrain in it."
While the Hurricane engine is already available, the SEMA car was built to debut a range of new Mopar performance parts.
"We wanted to showcase some of the pieces and parts for it," Mark said. "A carbon fiber hood with an air intake, carbon fiber splitter, spoiler—all of those pieces are going to be available the first of the year for our customers to put on their Charger."
The concept also features unique fenders designed to accentuate the classic '68-'69 Charger styling.
So, can you buy the "Sixpack" shown on the floor? Not exactly. As Mark clarified, customers can order the 550-horsepower Hurricane drivetrain today. The carbon fiber body components will be available for purchase at the beginning of next year, allowing owners to build their own version of the SEMA concept.
This approach earned the "Sixpack" a "nine" on the SEMA Scale from Reeves, given that the most important components are confirmed for sale. As for the total cost, Mark advised enthusiasts to "just sign over a blank check to Mopar."
