The company announced plans to open more than 50 new service centers through 2026. By the end of 2027, Rivian expects to have more than 150 service centers across its network. In addition to physical locations, Rivian plans to increase its mobile service fleet by 50 percent this year to better support customers in areas without a nearby service center.

Over the past year, Rivian said it has added and trained more than 1,000 new service specialists to support its growing customer base. The automaker also reported a 35 percent reduction in appointment wait times compared to the previous year.

Rivian highlighted improvements in its service technology, including enhanced remote diagnostics and updated software tools designed to help technicians identify and resolve issues more efficiently. The company said its connected vehicle system allows for more proactive troubleshooting, and in some cases, issues can be resolved through over-the-air software updates without requiring a service visit.

Lessons learned from servicing the R1T and R1S have also been applied to the R2. Rivian said the upcoming model was designed with reduced mechanical complexity to improve quality and make routine service easier.

The R2 is scheduled to begin production and deliveries in 2026.
