Six years ago Nissan recalled 341,000 vehicles for doors that open while driving and it's happening again. Although this time, the doors aren't opening when lowering a rear window, nor is the number of affected vehicles nearly as big.

Just over 26,000 vehicles are affected this time, notably 2025 Altima, Sentra, 2025-2026 Frontier, and 2026 Kicks vehicles. The issue is the door strikers may have faulty welds that can break, allowing doors to swing open while driving.

Nissan will fix this issue free of charge through the brand's dealer network. Owners of the affected vehicles should have letters mailed out by March 13, 2026. In the meantime, owners can contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 to see if their vehicle is affected. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD185 and PMA61.
