Going To A Dodge Dealership Really Sucks

With a score of 810 (on a 1,000-point scale), Dodge earned the lowest tally of any category in J.D. Power’s 2025 U.S. Customer Service Index (CSI) Study.

That mark came in the mainstream SUV category that would include the Durango and Hornet. On the bright side, owners of Dodge cars (which would include the Challenger coupe and Charger sedan) rated their dealership experience a bit better with a score of 876, earning the Dodge brand an overall score of 857. That’s still well below the segment average of 862.

Bottom-ranked mainstream brands in J.D. Power’s 2025 U.S. Customer Service Index Study:

Ram (826)

Volkswagen (829)

Hyundai (830)

Kia (840)

Dodge (857)

Ram came in dead last in the mainstream rankings. Dodge performed significantly worse in one category (SUVs) but better in another (cars) so its combined score was higher than Ram’s, which only appears in the truck category. Volkswagen and Hyundai didn’t do much better.

Bottom-ranked premium brands in J.D. Power’s 2025 U.S. Customer Service Index Study:

Maserati (823)

Genesis (834)

Land Rover (839)

Volvo (860)

Alfa Romeo (865)

Maserati doesn’t sell very many cars in the United States (or elsewhere, really), only has 47 Stateside dealerships, and more than a third of the Trident brand’s sales are recorded in Southern California. Volvo is another brand with a relatively small footprint in North America, which makes us wonder if difficulty in locating a dealer nearby with open appointment slots may be a contributing factor to low CSI scores. Land Rover’s poor CSI result could have something to do with the high number of repairs the brand’s cars tend to require.

Bottom -ranked truckmakers in J.D. Power’s 2025 U.S. Customer Service Index Study:

Ram (826)

Ford (859

Only Ram and Ford fell below the truck segment’s average of 861. Toyota, Nissan, GMC and Chevrolet finished ahead of the Blue Oval and Ram brand, with Chevrolet earning top honors from truck buyers.
