Cadillac will field four V-Series.R racecars in the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans this June. The twice-around-the-clock endurance race, scheduled for June 14-15, marks 75 years since Cadillac’s first appearance at Circuit de la Sarthe.

Key Points

  • Cadillac returns to Le Mans with four V-Series.R Hypercars, marking 75 years since its first entry at Circuit de la Sarthe.
  • Experienced teams and drivers, including Jenson Button, Earl Bamber, and Ricky Taylor, will compete under the Cadillac Racing banner.
  • The Cadillac V-Series.R is powered by a 5.5L DOHC V8, developed by GM’s Performance and Racing Propulsion team.

Cadillac Racing has experienced mixed results at Le Mans in recent years—securing a podium finish in 2023 and a top-10 finish in 2024, while also suffering at their own hands with numerous self-inflicted crashes. With this expanded four-car lineup, the American automaker aims to improve on past results and challenge for an outright victory.

“We’re thrilled to have Cadillac Racing return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans with four cars competing for the overall win in the Hypercar class,” said John Roth, Cadillac’s global vice president.

The No. 12 and No. 38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA entries are automatic qualifiers based on their full-season participation in the FIA World Endurance Championship—both cars crashed into each other while running 1-2 during the season-opening race in Qatar this past weekend. The team will have to clean up that behavior if they want to compete at La Sarthe.

JOTA drivers will include legends of the sport like Jenson Button, Earl Bamber, and Sebastien Bourdais, along with the younger, yet experienced hands of Alex Lynn, Norman Nato, and Will Stevens.

The No. 101 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R will make its Le Mans debut, representing a full-season IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (IMSA GTP) entry. Ricky Taylor has been confirmed as a primary driver, with additional teammates to be announced. Expect Ricky's brother, Jordan, and his considerable Le Mans experience with Corvette to join the lineup.

The No. 311 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R, campaigned by Action Express Racing, returns for its third consecutive Le Mans appearance. Jack Aitken is listed as the primary driver, with further lineup details forthcoming.

The Cadillac V-Series.R Hypercar is easily the best sounding car in the field—and that includes the V12 Aston Martin Valkyrie. The Cadillac is powered by a 5.5L DOHC V8 engine, developed by GM’s Performance and Racing Propulsion team in Pontiac, Michigan.
