For the eighth year in a row, Lexus earned top honors from U.S. News & World Report for its L/Certified Pre-Owned Program.

Several factors tilted the field in Lexus’ direction, John Vincent, senior automotive correspondent at U.S. News, explained in a statement. “With warranty coverage for unlimited miles over six years, and competitive benefits like a service loaner and complimentary maintenance, L/Certified by Lexus continues to be a standout among certified pre-owned programs,”

Lexus, which offers a robust warranty to its new-car buyers, adds an additional two years and an unlimited number of miles to the remaining factory warranty on all cars sold through its L/Certified Pre-Owned Program. It also includes 4-hour roadside assistance including towing reimbursement, complimentary loaner cars while your vehicle is being repaired, and trip interruption service if you break down far from home and have to stay overnight.

A survey conducted by Consumer Reports suggests that cars sold through CPO programs have about 15 percent fewer problems than other used cars. Owners also give higher satisfaction scores after buying through a CPO program.

U.S. News & World Report based its Certified Pre-Owned program award on an evaluation of “a range of distinct CPO program coverages and benefits including warranty coverage duration, trip interruption reimbursement, roadside assistance perks and more.”
