2025 Lexus LX700h Debuts With New Overtrail Edition

Finally, the last holdout in Lexus’ electrified lineup gets a high-voltage heart transplant.
The 2025 LX 700h shows with a hybrid system pairing a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with a motor-generator tucked neatly between the engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission, bringing a combined output of 457 hp and a stump-pulling 583 lb-ft of torque.
It’s both familiar and a bit beefier than the Tundra’s iForce Max setup— Lexus claims it will return a respectable 20 mpg in the combined cycle.
2025 Lexus LX700h: All The Details
Don’t mistake the hybrid LX for a soft boy, though. Despite the added weight of its hybrid gear, it’s still a full-fledged off-roader.
It’s been engineered to keep crawling even if the hybrid system fails. A separate alternator and starter ensure that the gas engine and all its 4WD hardware keep running even if you lose the electric jam. The crown jewel is a waterproof battery housed in a tray capable of crossing water up to 27.5 inches deep.
For hardcore off-the-road stuff, the 2025 LX 700h is also offered as a new Overtrail Edition. OE trucks get front and rear diff locks, meaty all-terrain tires, and a darker, bolder exterior look that gives the big Lexus a bit more attitude. Inside, the Overtrail adds unique touches like monolithic upholstery and upgraded tech, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a stronger frame to handle any trail you point it at.
While pricing hasn’t been released yet, expect a healthy premium over the LX 600, which starts at just under $94,000. The 2025 LX goes on sale in the US early next year, with exact pricing to be disclosed closer to launch.
