Shoppers Prove These Coupes Are Still Cool
The Ford Mustang started its life all the way back in 1964, and it’s just as interesting to buyers in the internet age as it was when it was setting sales records all those years ago.

1) Ford Mustang
Certainly, the Ford Mustang’s 44,000 or so sales in 2024 are a far cry from the million or so of them Ford sold in its first few years on the market. But, just as it has for every month we’ve kept track, the Mustang proved to be the most popular two-door coupe in America in the month of June. The fact that the Mustang’s traditional competitors from Chevrolet and Dodge are no longer on the market certainly doesn’t hurt the pony car’s online popularity.
2) Dodge Charger
In place of the dearly departed Dodge Challenger is the all-new 2025 Dodge Charger. Four-door sedan versions of the Charger are filtering out to Dodge dealerships this year, but the model that launched first was a coupe powered solely by electric motors. Don’t expect that to be the case much longer.
3) BMW 2 Series
The third most-popular coupe last month in online searches was the BMW 2 Series. As we’ve pointed out in the past, there are two versions of the 2 Series offered in America. The rear-wheel-drive 2 Series Coupe comes in two forms. The four-cylinder 230i and the six-cylinder M240i. There’s also a BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe that’s based on a front-wheel-drive chassis.
4) Toyota GR86
The Toyota GR86 started its life wearing a Scion badge. When that brand was shuttered, Toyota updated its two-door coupe offering and renamed it the GR86. Both the older Scion and the current Toyota share the bulk of their design with the Subaru BRZ, but for whatever reason, the GR86 generates quite a bit more online interest than its sibling from Subaru.
5) Mercedes-Benz AMG GT
Mercedes-Benz launched the AMG GT all the way back in 2015 as a direct competitor to the machine that you’re about to see in sixth place on the most-popular coupes list from June. It’s been on the market for a decade, but that doesn’t mean it’s lost any of its online mojo.
6) Porsche 911
This is the third month in a row that the Porsche 911 has landed in sixth place on this list of the most-researched coupes in America. Considering its continued popularity on the sales floor and the fact that it’s been around since the 1960s, we’re a little surprised it continues to fall behind the AMG GT. Still, Germany’s rear-engine coupe stands out as the quintessential European sports car.
7) Toyota GR Supra
The Toyota GR Supra’s end is near. The Japanese automaker has already launched the MKV Final Edition model for 2026, and that will be the final model year on sale in America. Rumors continue to swirl that Toyota isn’t finished with the Supra nameplate, but so far no successor has been revealed.
8) Lexus LC 500
Lexus has killed off the hybrid-powered version of the LC coupe and convertible for the 2026 model year, but thankfully the V8-powered version will live at least another year. There’s a distinct lack of traditional grand touring cars in the United States these days, but with an ultra luxurious interior, stunning exterior and 471 horsepower underhood, the LC 500 fits the bill perfectly.
9) Lexus RC F
Another V8-powered coupe from Lexus lands in eighth place on the most-popular coupes list. Like the LC, the RC F is powered by a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 that sends all of its ponies to the rear wheels through an automatic transmission. And, also like the LC, it’s nearing the end of its life expectancy.
10) BMW M2
Up to this point, the list of June’s most-popular coupes perfectly matched the list from May. Here’s the only change: In place of the Subaru BRZ is the BMW M2. We saw the more mundane but still excellent BMW 2 Series all the way up in third place this month, so the M2’s inclusion in 10th isn’t a surprise.
