Acura RSX Returns For 2026 As Home-Grown EV

No, it's not the RSX you remember: now it's an all-electric coupe-over.
Acura on Wednesday revealed its next fully electric model, the 2026 Acura RSX. Yes, the storied badge of yesteryear is back after AutoGuide uncovered a trademark application for it last year. However, it will be a decidedly different shape: instead of the original sport compact Integra successor, RSX 2.0 will be an all-electric SUV.
What the RSX won't be is another GM joint venture. No, this EV will be the first ground-up example for Acura, sitting on the dedicated EV platform that also underpins the Honda 0 Saloon and 0 SUV which both just debuted at CES 2025.
What's more, it will be built at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio.
"The nameplate pays homage to the Acura RSX with its coupe-like silhouette, but it truly represents a forward-looking approach to fun-to-drive performance," said Acura National Sales vice president Mike Langel. "Our second all-electric SUV will solidify our EV credentials even as its ICE stablemates, the all-new ADX, RDX, MDX, TLX and Integra continue to attract new buyers to the Acura brand."
The announcement coincides with the beginning of the RSX's real-world testing, as prototypes head out in a camouflage wrap designed by the global Acura design team. Even with the wrap, it's clear the production RSX retains the broad-strokes proportions of the Performance EV concept that previewed it. We see the angular vent cutting into the front door, flush door handles, full-width taillights, and just a hint of squinty headlight wrapping around the front of the vehicle. The fastback roofline makes it hard to judge the size, but during a pre-reveal briefing with media, American Honda's Lance Woelfer and Jessica Fini confirmed it was smaller than the existing ZDX. Given that shape and size then, this is almost a more appropriate vehicle to carry that name.
While no powertrain details were discussed, we do know the related Honda 0 Series models will offer 241-horsepower, single-motor rear-drive and 482-horsepower dual-motor all-wheel-drive layouts. The RSX will also be the first Acura—and indeed the first production model—to feature Honda's newest in-car infotainment setup, dubbed Asimo OS.
Production of the 2026 Acura RSX will begin before the end of the year. Expect more details, including interior photos, trims, and pricing, in the upcoming months.
