Tesla Recalling 218,868 Vehicles Over Rear Cameras
Tesla is recalling nearly a quarter of a million vehicles over a rear camera issue. The affected vehicles include certain 2017 Model 3, 2021-2023 Model 3, 2020-2023 Model Y, 2021-2023 Model S, and 2021-2023 Model X vehicles. The problem has to do with operating software version 2026.8.6. With this software, the rearview camera image may be delayed in showing on the screen when the vehicle is placed in reverse.
To fix the issue, Tesla has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owners of affected vehicles should have letters sent out by July 3, 2026. In the meantime, customers can contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752.
