The least reliable used cars in America wear the Chrysler badge, according to the results of a survey conducted by Consumer Reports.

Three other brands under the same Stellantis umbrella are also at the bottom of the rankings, with Jeep scoring one point worse than Dodge and Ram scoring a little bit better at ninth on the list. Mini and Hyundai round out the rest of the bottom five.

Chrysler currently sells the Pacifica and Voyager minivans (the pair are nearly identical except for their nameplates), but since this survey includes vehicles built between 2015 and 2020, models like the 200 and 300 sedans and the Town and Country minivan are included in the results.

Jeep, the next worst brand after Chrysler, is also near the bottom in Consumer Reports’ new-vehicle reliability scale.

Jeep Wrangler

Seven of the 10 lowest-ranked brands on the list are American, two are Korean and one is European. At the very top of the used-car-reliability chart are Lexus and Toyota.

Included in these rankings are the survey responses of Consumer Reports subscribers who own more than 150,000 vehicles. The results are weighted so that major problems like blown engines or transmissions are scored more severely than things like squeaky brakes or loose interior trim pieces.
