Nissan has just revealed a special edition of the brand’s Z sport car at the 38th annual ZCON, the International Z Car Convention hosted by the Z Car Club. Officially called the 2026 Nissan Z Heritage Edition, it pays homage to the fourth generation of the manufacturer’s iconic Z.

For those not familiar, the fourth generation of the Z, known by its internal model code of Z32 by fans around the world, was introduced in 1989. It was one of the best-looking cars of its time in my humble opinion and included an available twin-turbo V6 engine. It was also featured in that iconic G.I Joe and Barbie commercial of the late 1990s set to the soundtrack of The Kinks.

What Makes It Heritage

The 2026 Z Heritage Edition comes with bronze 19-inch RAYS wheels and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler. Really playing into the ‘90s, there is a Twin Turbo badge on the trunk and of course, like the Z32, giant bronze Twin Turbo graphics on the body sides. Perhaps the craziest bit of the car, at least for car-nuts like me who grew up on racing video games through the ‘90s and ‘00s, is the paint. The Heritage Edition is finished in Midnight Purple paint. Yes, that Midnight Purple paint made famous by the iconic R33 and R34 Skyline GT-R.

Inside, there are a few updates as well, like unique door kick plates and exclusive floor mats. The 2026 Nissan Z Heritage Edition is available only on Performance grades of the car. Expect to see the special edition 2026 model to roll into dealership showrooms sometime in the near future.
