Before the spectacle that is the Las Vegas Grand Prix, McLaren has revealed a one-off special edition 750S called Project Viva. It is designed and created by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the brand’s division responsible form special editions and one-off commissions.

The car is a visual exercise and the brand state it’s Inspired by the energy and spectacle of Las Vegas. It features hand-painted monochrome linework that McLaren calls a ‘Sketch in Motion’ livery.

A one-off car needs exclusive paint, so MSO includes Muriwai White on the Project Viva, inspired by the shutters and doors within the Muriwai House motif. As well, there is a new color MSO created just for this car called Vegas Nights. It’s a dark black finish that includes flecks of cyan, magenta and green. The idea behind this combination is to replicate the neon glow of Las Vegas at night.

Besides the special paint and artwork, McLaren has also brought the brand’s two Formula 1 drivers in to give the Project Vivo a little extra clout. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have added their own hand-applied details to the car, such as the racing team’s 10th Constructors’ World Championship star on the rear bumper, as well as signature lines and individual sketches.

“Project Viva captures what McLaren Special Operations is all about - pushing beyond convention to create something truly personal. It’s where craft meets character, and where any inspiration can become a story told through design. Every commission we create is a fusion of vision and skill, resulting in a car that authentically expresses the inspiration behind it. Whether born from brand storytelling or a client’s own passion, MSO exists to turn ideas into something unique and meaningful." Says Jonathan Simms, Director of McLaren Special Operations (MSO).

The McLaren 750S Project Viva will be on display at the McLaren Experience Centre within the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel from 13–20 November, ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
